Knowledge Shared, Community Connected:
Africa Talks Inaugural Event
September 27th, 2023

Our inaugural Africa Talks lecture convened a diverse audience of students, faculty, state and city officials, leaders, and community members. Tinashe Hofisi engaged audience in a thought-provoking presentation on insights into Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections.
Before the talk, guests connected over cuisine from talented African vendors - Keur Fatou and Holisac's Taste of Africa - fostering a warm, vibrant atmosphere.
We were thrilled to see such an outstanding turnout and thoughtful dialogue at the launch of this impactful new community lecture series, which is organized collaboratively by the African Center and UW African Studies Program.
Africa Talks has already proven its ability to build community through knowledge.

We eagerly anticipate the next Talk entitled: Manhood Today is Money by Mwita Muinko .
