1. Grants and Communications Officer – FT

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Grants and Communications Officer to join our team. This person will play a key role in securing funding to advance our mission and enhance our visibility through compelling and culturally savvy communications.

A. Key Responsibilities: Grants and Communications Officer

i. Grants Management:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant applications and reports.
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of grant proposals and reports.

ii. Communications:

  • Draft and send community announcements and monthly newsletters highlighting community impact stories, events, services, and resources.
  • Update and manage content on the organization’s website and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.).
  • Create engaging materials that showcase our work and success stories.
  • Represent the organization in community meetings, conferences, and fundraising events as necessary.

iii. Field Operations

  • Work from our field locations to assist clients in completing applications, finding resources and information.
  • Be flexible to represent our organization at community events, resource fairs, and other public meetings on weekends and evenings when necessary.
  • Associate degree or higher in communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in grants management, communications, or community engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. 
  • A deep understanding of immigrant and refugee communities, particularly African immigrant populations.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience in managing social media platforms, email marketing platforms, and website content preferred.
  • Must have a reliable and efficient mode of transportation for fieldwork. You would have to go to different locations within a day.

2. Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer – FT

Our Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer position is a dynamic role focused on fostering relationships with community members, leaders, and partners and ensuring our programs meet the needs of our community and align with our organization’s mission and goals. If you’re passionate about empowering immigrants and coordinating impactful community events, this is the role for you.

A. Key Responsibilities: Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer

i. Community Outreach and Relationship Building:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, associations, and groups within the African immigrant community.
  • Build partnerships with minority-owned and immigrant-owned businesses. 
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and other forums to raise awareness of our services and programs.
  • Coordinate and support community events, ensuring strong engagement and participation from community members.

ii. Volunteer Engagement and Management:

  • Recruit volunteers, coordinate activities, and manage database to align with program goals and capacity needs of our organization and community.
  • Foster a positive volunteer experience by providing guidance, feedback, and recognition.

iii. Field Operations

  • Work from our field locations to assist clients in completing applications, finding resources and information.
  • Be flexible to represent our organization at community events, resource fairs, and other public meetings on weekends and evenings when necessary.
  • Associate degree or higher in community engagement, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in community outreach, volunteer management, or related fields.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of immigrant and refugee communities, particularly African immigrants.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must have a reliable and efficient mode of transportation for fieldwork. You would have to go to different locations within a day.

3. Youth Programs and Outreach Officer – FT

Our Youth Programs and Outreach Officer will play a critical role in developing and managing culturally relevant programs for youth in the African immigrant community. This position will focus on building partnerships with local organizations, schools, and parents to identify the needs of young people and provide impactful programming. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, outreach, and creating strong community networks.

A. Key Responsibilities: Youth Programs and Outreach Officer

i. Program Development and Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain partnerships with youth program coordinators and directors in other organizations to collaborate on joint initiatives.
  • Establish strong relationships with resource specialists in school districts across Dane County to better serve the needs of immigrant youth.
  • Engage parents and youth to identify challenges and opportunities, using their input to develop culturally competent programs.
  • Create and implement youth programs that foster leadership, education, and community engagement.

ii. Outreach and Community Engagement:

  • Conduct outreach efforts to raise awareness of the organization’s youth programs, using both in-person and online channels.
  • Collaborate with schools, community groups, and families to ensure the programs align with the educational and social needs of immigrant youth.
  • Actively participate in community events, parent meetings, and youth forums to build relationships and increase participation in programs.

iii. Field Operations

  • Work from our field locations to assist clients in completing applications, finding resources and information.
  • Be flexible to represent our organization at community events, resource fairs, and other public meetings on weekends and evenings when necessary.
  • Associate degree or higher in education, youth development, social work, or a related field. 
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working with youth programs, community outreach, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of issues faced by immigrant and refugee youth, particularly African immigrant communities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, especially when working with diverse groups.
  • Experience in program development and implementation is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must have a reliable and efficient mode of transportation for fieldwork. You would have to go to different locations within a day.
