Opening Doors to Economic Independence.
Community Financial Education
Financial Education workshops help our immigrant neighbors overcome barriers to accessing financial institutions and effectively managing their finances. Workshops are offered periodically throughout the year. All are welcome to participate. Child care and language support may be available. Upcoming workshops are posted at the bottom of this page.
As the African proverb says, “Greatness is not measured by how high we climb, but by how many lives we lift as we rise.“
ACCD Financial Education events provide the tools to help participants understand:
- The different kinds of bank accounts
- How to create a budget and manage savings
- What credit score is and how it works
- Debt management
- Home ownership
- Retirement planning
