Older Adults Programs​

ACCD is committed to promote the wellbeing of our elders as well as reducing loneliness and isolation impacting our senior community members. The ACCD Older Adults Programs aim to support our African elders by providing culturally relevant activities and events as well as connecting them to trusted community resources that improve health and livelihoods.

Baobab Senior Circle

When: 2nd & last Friday of the month, 3:00 to 5:00pm

Where: at the ACCD and other community locations

Who: Black adults age 55+ 

ACCD provides a conducive environment for immigrant older adults to connect with their peers, share experiences and pass down cultural knowledge through storytelling, oral history, music and other art forms.

What to expect

  • Safe space for sharing cultural knowledge and experiences
  • Intergenerational dialogue
  • Peer support and new friends
  • Field trips and a lot of fun activities

Community Elder Connect

Why it Matters:
