What happens to a language when it crosses oceans? How do immigrant families preserve linguistic heritage while building new lives in Madison? A free community conversation on language, identity, and belonging in the African diaspora
Join us for the January edition of Africa Talks. We will be talking about the development and usage of Sierra Leonean Krio among Africans in the diaspora – a conversation about language mixing, cultural identity, and the creative ways communities maintain connection across generations and geographies.
Join the conversation on how immigrant families navigate language preservation, cultural mixing, and identity formation across generations.
